Hello, I'm Geckoram, an amateur astrophotographer, a passionate internaut and computer science student. I have a lot of hobbies, but there's just something about astronomy and astrophotography that keeps me coming back for more. It's technical, you have to learn a lot of programs, apps and machines, but, when you have it all set up and imaging, being in the middle of the countryside at night is just a mood for me. Some people read, sleep or watch youtube while waiting for the imaging to finish, but I really like just walking around while listening to music.
I started astrophotography back in july of 2023. It might be a bit embarrassing, but what brought me to the hobby was the anime Insomniacs After School, a 13 episode romance anime about a couple in an astronomy club. When it showed the pictures, it was like "oh shit, you can do That with a camera?", and then I spent all that night (sleeping is for cowards Hahaha /j) reading and watching videos about astrophotography, about lenses, cameras and programs. Next day I got my father's old DSLR (nikon D60) and tested the theory. Since then I've been taking pictures pretty consistently, even when I moved to the city for university.
well, I think that's all you need to know. You can stick around if you want to, clear skies.
Geckoram
